You might send your notes or corrections in any form, but never forget about arguments! Reporting errors in RIC could be also done in the same way. No need to say that in such case your arguments should be especially strong.

A little different rules are obligatory when you are adding a new coin. Sorry, no tales like: once upon a time I saw a follis... The decent, clear photo (at least 500 pixels width) is a must! Remember that it could be an ultimate proof to others and even the only tool for scientific investigations! A proper description makes my work easier, while it is not absolutely necessary.

Note that also another specimen of already known unlisted coin is worth to attest! Coin from different die could sometimes turn "engraver's error" into "unlisted issue". Number of specimens also gives an idea about rarity.
