UNLISTED ISSUE. RIC lists similar issue [TREVERI 840-843], but among the group of heavier folles (7.0-5.0 g), with longer obv. legend only ([1a] IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG) and without dot in rev. legend. Note that rev. legend on specimen shown here has double break and Sutherland claims in footnote 3 on p. 225 that "the break may be so small as to make its intended existence doubtful". All these differences lead us to hypothesis that this specimen belongs to unlisted issue of lighter folles (5.0-4.0 g), where shorter legend CONSTANTINVS P F AVG is not unusual [e.g. TREVERI 861-864, 872-875]. Footnote 2 on p. 225 suggests that also lighter version of TREVERI 835-839 (another PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS with different reverse) could exist. "Maurice [...] recorded also varieties with IMP C CONSTANTINVS P F AVG (bust A) and CONSTANTINVS P F AVG (bust B) from Trier and Berlin respectively: these are anomalous and therefore suspect".
